Monday Reading Observations

On Monday myself and the principal will be doing reading group lesson observations with the teachers.  This is the first time I will have done any observations on whole school teaching practices. The closest was RBL observations, but that was only with the senior syndicate. Below is a slide of the criteria we will be providing feedback and feedforward on.

  1. Thank you for this opportunity Rob. I learned a lot from this observation and have adapted my reading rotation slightly because of the comments I received. It also triggered some great korero between myself, our principal and my mentor teacher regarding literacy as a whole :)

  2. Thanks for the feedback Petrina. You demonstrated an increased awareness of your students' needs and differentiated your rotations which was great to see. Diane and I were both impressed with your transition management and time keeping which are too of the hardest things to master. There was a lovely feel in the classroom as well. Great job!

  3. Thanks also Rob for your positive attitude and responses to the observations not only in my class but in the whole school. It is great that you are so enthused about what everyone is doing in their classes for reading.
